Fires are responsible for personal injury, property damage and loss of life across the United States. The Sabbath and holiday-observant Jewish community is subject to additional fire risk because of its many rituals that involve open flame. Maccabee Aish is the first organization dedicated to fire safety and prevention, offering educational programming to address the needs of the Jewish community.

This web site identifies the additional fire risks experienced by the Jewish community, and cites specific cases where ritual observances led to devastating fires. Our goal is to help reduce the overall fire and burn risks that impact the Jewish community.

Children Learn About Fire Safety in Time for Chanukah

On Monday, November 29th, just in time for Chanukah, a fire prevention program was welcomed by over one hundred and fifty students at Talmudical Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. This innovative, exciting program was presented by "Maccabee Aish" in partnership with the "Chessed Fund", and is a novelty in the Jewish community.
